We are proud to offer Canine Rehab services for dogs who develop injuries, are post surgery, or discover limitations that need to be addressed, such as with range of motion or flexibility. Through a combination of services, we customize our treatments to meet the specific needs of each dog. Read about the many rehab modalities offered at Canine Strong below.
Before scheduling a consultation, you will need to obtain a referral from your veterinarian. After your consult, a rehab plan will be created by our in-house veterinarian and our certified canine rehab assistant and sent to your veterinarian for approval. The rehab plan may include some or all of the services below. As your dog progresses through their rehab plan, new modalities may be introduced to best further their progress and support their goals. We work closely with your veterinarian, as well as our in-house veterinarian, throughout this process to ensure the best care possible for your pet.
We are proud to offer Underwater Treadmill ('UWTM') services and access for dogs and their owners. Underwater Treadmill is often used as a compliment to veterinary care after an injury or surgery as it can improve range of motion in compromised joints. The buoyancy of the water allows for a safe weight bearing environment for injured joints or decreased strength. UWTM is also used for general conditioning in sporting and working dogs and for weight management in over or under weight dogs. Learn more about Underwater Treadmill here.
Cold Laser Therapy
We offer Cold Laser Therapy as part of our collection of rehab services. Cold Laser Therapy is used for wound healing, post operative care, arthritis, and numerous skin conditions such as burns or bites. It's ability to accelerate tissue repair makes it an excellent choice for dogs with chronic joint problems or skin conditions. Learn more about Cold Laser Therapy here.
Strength and Conditioning
Strength and Conditioning are an integral part of any rehabilitation treatment plan. In order for a dog to fully recover from an injury or surgery, they must rebuild strength in a safe and effective way. We work with your dog at their unique level to help them achieve optimal strength.
The range of motion in a dog's joints may suffer after an injury or surgery. Through safe and effective stretching, we are able to help a dog regain their flexibility and range of motion while rebuilding strength.
