Animal Reiki
What is Reiki?Rei means “spirit,” and Ki means “energy.” The word Reiki translates as “spiritual energy.” Reiki is a Japanese healing system where the practitioner acts as a bridge between “Universal” or “Spiritual” energy and the client to assist the client’s body to rebalance their own energy system to support the natural process of self-healing. It can be used for physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual healing.
Reiki is gentle, non-invasive and doesn’t require physical contact. It doesn’t cause stress, discomfort or pain so it is ideal for use with animals. Session LengthThe session length is determined by the pet’s tolerance to the session. What the session actually looks like is guided by the pet. Some pets are very receptive to the work and allow the practitioner to do a whole body routine. Others can tolerate only small doses of the work or work done only on certain parts of their body. The session could last only a few minutes or could go on for as long as half an hour. The animal will choose when, where and how long they will receive a session.
