Senior FitA Canine Fitness Training Group ClassAs our dogs age, they can experience a decline in both their physical and mental abilities. It's important that we keep them active in both mind and body. Our Senior Fit class is perfect for any dog who is experiencing the mental or physical effects of aging. While each dog's goals will be individual, a group class full of other senior dogs is a great place to get started with Canine Fitness Training.

What to Expect:
This class is open to any dog that is experiencing the effects of aging on their mind or body. They must be well socialized with other dogs and people. Activities will be assigned appropriately for the age and condition of each individual dog. Please bring single bite treats and a water bowl for your dog. A health history form is required prior to the start of the class to determine if a veterinary release is necessary in order for your dog to participate. Each dog must have its own human partner. We require all dogs to have a harnesses or flat buckle collar and non retractable leash. This class is typically scheduled as a series of 3 one-hour classes.

So, What Is Canine Fitness Training?Canine Fitness Training focuses on all five aspects of canine total health: Strength, Flexibility, Balance, Cardiorespiratory and Mental Endurance. During a group or individual session, each dog's goals are determined and a fitness program is designed based on those goals. You will learn how to help your dog through exercises designed to address their goals while staying within their abilities and catering to specific needs or mobility issues. Canine Fitness Training is a compliment to veterinary care and is not meant to treat or diagnose.
